Finding Place is an ambitious contemporary art exhibition featuring local, national,
and international artists, celebrating a cultural renaissance in Crawley while
complementing the history of the Ancient Priors' buildings.
We invite you to share in this experience and to interact with our workshops, talks,
and diverse, exciting artworks in various artistic mediums to form a meaningful
dialogue on how we want to experience art and culture locally and explore concepts
of how we find our place in the world.
This exhibition will highlight how we need art to connect to ourselves, others, and the
world. It is a bridge that links the seen and unseen, the said and unsaid, the felt and
the unfelt. Art, in its many forms, is not just an accessory to life; it's a fundamental
aspect of what makes us human, helping us to create, share, and understand the
complex tapestry of human experience.
Finding Place 2024 follows the massive success of the Manufactured Body
Exhibition at the Ancient Priors in 2023; we are delighted to invite back artist and
Curator Alison Dollery, alongside Curator Sophie Nowakowska.
The exhibition is supported by Pop Up Culture Crawley, an organisation renowned
for its innovative approaches to cultural engagement.
