Julia Crouch started her working life as a theatre director and playwright before retraining as a graphic designer and setting up her own website design and illustration business, which she was able to fit around starting a family. She discovered NaNoWriMo [National Novel Writing Month encourages participants to write a 50,000-word novel during November] and after that, there was no looking back. Her first novel Cuckoo came out in hardback in the UK in March 2011. Julia’s fourth novel, The Long Fall, came out in June 2014 and she is currently working on novel number five about some bad things happening in Elephant he now spend her days writing at an untidy desk in a shed at the bottom of her garden in Brighton.
